Lastrnweekend the Trento Cup, the first event of the Italian competition season, tookrnplace in the north of Italy.
The competition was open only to Advanced Novice,rnJunior and Senior divisions, and a total of seven teams gathered together, readyrnand excited to compete again after a long time.
rnrnLastrnyear, despite the Covid-19 restrictions, some teams were able to skate andrncompete; however, the possibility to do that in front of a public and in a morerncheerful environment gave the skaters a new wave of enthusiasm and high spirit.

"We have been very lucky because last year we had the chance to skate and compete; however, we really missed the cheer and the support from the public. Having it back is really great!" said Team Hot Shivers from Milan.

Advanced Novice
Threernteams competed in the Advanced Novice division.
Team Hot Shivers won therncompetition with a total of 61.12 points, skating a bright and joyfulrnprogram to the soundtrack of the new movie "Luca".
Team Ladybirds,rnfrom Milan, ranked second with their program "The Cunning Fox" and arnscore of 54.44 points.
Last but not least, Team Shining Blades earned a totalrnof 39.99 points and ranked third.
Team Hot Shivers won therncompetition with a total of 61.12 points, skating a bright and joyfulrnprogram to the soundtrack of the new movie "Luca".

OnrnSaturday, they skated an elegant short program with fancy black dresses and earnedrn45.54 points. "We think that the sentence Strike a pose wouldrndescribe very well our short program," Team Hot Shivers explained.
In thernfree skating, they presented a powerful "Moulin Rouge"rnthemed program wearing deep red dresses and obtained 91.23 points.
rnrnTeamrnShining Blades ranked second with 77.72 points, earning a score of 27.15 in thernshort program and 50.57 points in the free skating.
OnrnSaturday, they skated an elegant short program with fancy black dresses and earnedrn45.54 points. "We think that the sentence Strike a pose wouldrndescribe very well our short program," Team Hot Shivers explained.

In thernSenior division, there was a tight competition between the Team Hot Shivers fromrnMilan and Team Ice on Fire from Trento.
rnrnIn thernshort program, Team Ice on Fire took the lead with 59.43 points. They presentedrna very romantic and sweet program to the song "It's all coming back to mernnow" by CĂ©line Dion. "Our short program tells about the end of arnromantic story and the new beginning that it brings," they explained.
rnrnTeam HotrnShivers skated on a powerful and sensual tango and earned 58.91 points, onlyrn0.52 points less than Team Ice on Fire.

In the end, the Team Hot Shivers took the gold medal with 109.92 points in the free skate and a total score of 168.83 points. They performed a sweet and elegant program wearing a pink and silver dress.
The Team Ice on Fire presented a very emotional and spiritual program to the movie "The Mission" soundtrack. Unfortunately, they had a bad fall during the group lift that cost them some deductions and earned only 100.98 points. They ranked second with a total score of 160.41 points. "This weekend, we broke the ice with a discrete performance, but we are determined to improve a lot and reach all our goals," the team said.
