Paradise, MIU and Rockettes on the provisional World podium

Team Austria was the first team to skate in Colorado Springs on Friday evening. The Sweet Mozart presented its short program to « The River flows in you » and earned 25.43 points with one point deduction for a fall.

Team Spain skated in second position. In dark costumes, Team Fusion coached by Amanda and Natalie Hartman did a great « My Immortal » by Evanescene program. With an unfortunate hesitation at the end of the program during the intersection, they got 34.27 points.

Representing Great Britain, Zariba showed a clean program to « 500 Miles, Wake me up ». Dressed in red dresses, the team coached by Sara Paterson did 29.94 points for the short.

Team Netherlands (Team Illumination) arrived on the ice with shiny dressed. The team from the Netherlands presented « Something's gotta hold on me » by C. Aguil. Their clean skate brought them 29.63 points.

Zagreb Snowflakes, skating as Team Croatia, were the 5th team to compete. Coached by Natasa Bahat and Ozana Miljkovic, their short program was on the music of « Dernière Danse » by Indila. They did a total of 36.23 points.

Receiving great applause from the public, team Italy did a clean and punchy program to « Georgia on my mind » « Hit the road Jack ». Hot Shivers Senior was in the lead of the competition after the first group (score: 45.66 points).

After the resurfacing, Team Czech Republic presented a very touching program to « Heal the World » by Michael Jackson. Olympia coached by Jitka Mokra, Katerina Urbanova earned a total of 37.74 points.

Dressed in orange and gold, Team Australia did a rhythmed short program. With this Tribal Battle, Infusion got a total of 28.88 points on Friday evening.

With 3 men in the team, Team Turkey skated to « Burnin' up » by Jessie J. Team Turquoise is coached by Zeynep Aydin received 29.41 points.

Team Switzerland skated a clean program to « Ascencia » and « Take Flight ». Cool Dreams Senior got a total of 41.98 points.

Sending out a universal message of peace, Team Japan proposed another version of « Heal the World » by Michael Jackson. Jingu Ice Messengers dressed in yellow dresses earned 47.30 points.

Team Hungary was the last team of the second group. Team Passion coached by Erika Gulyas and Bettina Sarközi skated a clean short program. They earned 43.04 points.

Team United States of America 2, The Crystallettes received a warm welcome in the Broadmoor World Arena. The team skated to « Lean on Me » by J2 feat. Sizzy Rocket got a total of 55.23 points, with 2 points deduction.

Dressed with shiny violet dresses, Team Canada 2 (Les Supremes) presented its program « Knock on Wood ». With 3 unfortunate deduction points, the team from Quebec got 53.61points. One of the skater got injured and won't be able to skater on Saturday because of a deep cut. "This gonna be a real challenge for us", the coach said.

The second Canadian team followed. Team Canada 1 skated to Serena Ryder a wonderful short program. One hesitation appeared during the intersection at the end of the program. Nexxice coached by Shelley Simonton Barnett and Anne Schelter earned a total of 67.17.

With all red costumes, Team Russia 2 (Tatarstan) presented a clean program to « The Pursuit » by Harlin James. This program brought them 62.83 points.

Team Finland 2 took the ice with « Mirror, Mirror », their now famous short program. Coached Kaisa Arrateig, the Finnish team earned 69.18 points for this clean performance.

Representing Germany, Team Berlin 1 skated a good program to « Sometimes when we touch ». The German multiple champion got a total of 51.18 points.

The actual World Champion, Team Russia 1, was the first team to skate in the last group. Coached by Irina Yakovleva and Alexander Yakovlev, Paradise was composed of 15 skaters presented « Listen » by Beyonce. With 72.62 points, they

Just after, Team Finland 1 set up a great atmosphere in the ice rink with their famous Matadors. Marigold IceUnity presented an incredible performance and earned a total of 70.88 points.

Team Sweden 2 skated a romantic short program to « Shadow of a lost soul » by Josh Groban. Team Boomerang did 48.29 points.

The audience was crazy and loud when the Team United States of America 1 entered the ice. The U.S. champions Haydenettes skated to « Now we are free » from Gladiator. They had to deal with 2 falls in the intersection and earned for the short program a total of 63.90 points.

Team Sweden 1 did a punchy short program. Dressed in shiny costumes, they earned 59.04 points with their program on « Magnus Hyden, Youth, Drums ». Team Surprise had 1 deduction point and finished 7th.

The last team was Les Zoulous representing France. With their demon dance, the skaters earned a total of 49.21 points and they took the 11th place.

This is the 18th edition of the ISU World Synchronized Skating Championships. Colorado Springs has already organized the event in 2010. The Free Skate event will take place on Saturday. The competition will start at 3:45 PM (local time).
