This week we receive a well-known face of the world of synchro in Finland. Let us introduce you to a skater from one of the best teams in the world. Ulla Heliö has been skating on Team Unique for many years. She gave us an exclusive interview during her visit to Austria.

USA: Midwest and Pacific Coast Sectionals

The U.S. Midwestern and Pacific coast Sectionals were held this past weekend in Kalamazoo, Michigan. This competition is held in order to determine who is being sent to the U.S National Championships, being held this year in Plymouth, Michigan. 

The first Swiss competition took place this weekend

In Switzerland, the first competition of the season took place on Saturday, February 2 in Huttwil, in the canton of Bern. 24 teams participated in this event.

The first day at French Cup ended in an exciting situation

The 25th French Cup started in a good atmosphere, as so many times before. It empowered the performances of the top teams so that in Senior category the five top teams are within 2.51 points after the short program while Team Paradise from Russia is leading the competition. In the Junior division, the tight fight for the victory should be between Dream Edges (FIN) and Junost (RUS). The difference between the two teams is only 0.18 points. Team Dynamique (FIN) captured the win in the Advanced Novice category.

Synchro teams from five countries performed at Poland’s Hevelius Cup

On January 26-27 the city of Gdansk in northern Poland hosted the third edition of International Synchronized Skating Competition Hevelius Cup. The event brought together members of 26 teams to perform in front of several hundred viewers. Apart from Poland, there were participants from Finland, Netherland, Latvia, and Australia.

Paradise and Sunrise 1 took titles as Leon Lurje Trophy ends

The Junior and Senior Russian teams Paradise and Sunrise 1 added gold medal as the 2019 Leon Lurje Trophy concluded Sunday in Gothenburg (SWE), where two Basic Novice teams were also crowned. 

Clean sweep for Russia at Leon Lurje Trophy

Russian teams were in utterly dominant form claiming all titles on Saturday at the 2019 Leon Lurje Trophy in Gothenburg, Sweden. Team Paradise and Sunrise 1 lead for the moment the Senior and Junior division after the short programs. Sunrise 2 dominated the Advanced Novice category. 

Les Suprêmes (CAN) skate to save the orca

Canadian Vice-Champions will present their new programs this weekend in Sweden. After winning gold in the Netherlands in December, the team will be back in Europe for a few days.
