Idel and Team Surprise, on the way to win the 2018 Spring Cup

The 2018 Spring Cup takes place this weekend in Sesto San Giovanni, Italy. On Saturday, the junior and senior teams presented their short program. Novice teams competed with the free program. 


In the Advanced Novice category, Kazanochka from Russia won the competition hands down with a total score of 62.58 points. They got for example a level 4 for their traveling circle. The athletes received more than 20 points than the Italian Hot Shivers (40.50). Zagreb Snowflakes competed also in Milan and earned 32.06 points. 

 



The Junior division gathers this year 15 teams. After the short programs, Team Idel (RUS) placed comfortably at the top with 60.78 points. Team Spirit from Sweden got 51.30 for their short program and Zhemchuzhina received 47.06 points. 

The scores are more tight between the 4th and the 6th place with only one point between the Cool Dreams from Switzerland, Hot Shivers representing Italy and Team Berlin Junior (GER). The competition will also be rude on Sunday between Team Mirum (ESP), Team Blessing from Korea and Shining Blades (ITA). Those teams are for the moment 8th, 9th and 10th. 

 



A total of nine Senior teams competed also Saturday evening in Milan. The famous Team Surprise from Gothenburg (SWE) did the best score (73.02 points). Five points behind, Tatarstan got 67.44 points and the French Zoulous are now 3rd with 50.32 points. 

But Team Berlin 1 is really not far from the podium, just 0.06 point (50.26). Team Passion from Hungary received 46.80 points for the short program. They are followed by Hot Shivers (46.18) currently at the 6th position. Jingu Ice Messengers from Japan are actually 7th with 35.64 points and Olympia (CZE) 8th with two points less (33.68). Flying Angels from Italy are for the moment 9th with 24.34 points. 

 



The free programs start on Sunday at 2:30 PM (local time) with the Juniors. The Senior Free Skating Event is at 5:45 PM.
