Second competition for the Russian teams in the Urals

This weekend in Novourlask, Russia, the 2nd stage of Russian Cup took place – Open cup of Ural. Like a one month ago, it was competition open to Senior, Junior, Advanced Novice and Basic Novice categories. Many teams who were in the 1st stage of Russian Cup participated in this competition. A lot of teams also have just started their competitive season.

By the Senior division, only one team was registered. Team Crystal skated their two programs quite clean and strong and earned 9 points more than they had earned one month ago at the 1st stage of Russian Cup.

In the Junior category, the beginning of the season is successful for Team Yunost from Yekaterinburg. They skated strong and clean, it helps them to won the competition. Team Crystal Ice finished at the second place. After the short program, they were first but in free program they had few mistakes and finally they had 3 points less than Yunost. It will be a big battle between these two teams on National Championships next January. Third place took Team Idel from Kazan.

Team Yunost Novice from Yekaterinburg was the best in the Advanced Novice’s field. Like a one month ago, Team Ariada from Volzsk took the silver medal and bronze went to Nika from Novouralsk.

In Basic Novice, the winner was also from Yekaterinburg. Nobody has been able to reach Team Yunost Basic Novice. Second place went to Team Free Line from Novouralsk, at the third place: Team Olimplia-1 from Yekaterinburg.
